Rackspace Announces Full Suite of Cloud Hosting Offers

Rackspace Survey Reveals that Small Businesses are Missing Out on Cloud Hosting Benefits

While small businesses lack awareness of cloud hosting, medium-sized businesses appear prepared to reap the benefits of cloud hosting, as revealed in a recent survey conducted by Vanson Bourne for Rackspace® Hosting, (NYSE: RAX), a leader and specialist in hosting. More than half of the mid-sized businesses surveyed are aware of cloud hosting with 57 percent of medium businesses in the US and 53 percent of medium businesses in the UK responding as such. However, as compared to their medium-sized counterparts, the survey indicates that small businesses may be more confused about current cloud hosting technology and services, and less certain of how to utilize the cloud in the future. Cloud Computing Expo: Clouds Have Layers

Rackspace Hosting has unveiled its cloud hosting strategy which extends the company's technology and service leadership to cloud hosting. In support of its new cloud hosting strategy, the company announced it has agreed to acquire Slicehost and Jungle Disk, and has established relationships with Limelight Networks and Sonian Networks to provide more robust service offerings. Rackspace's acquisition of two innovators in the cloud community, Slicehost and Jungle Disk, bring proven solutions to the suite including on-demand, virtualized servers and online storage software and services, respectively. Rackspace Upgrades Cloud Computing Product

Web hosting company, Rackspace Managed Hosting's Mosso cloud division, has developed a new control panel including a new provisioning system for its flagship product, The Hosting Cloud. The combined enhancements create a platform for Mosso to increase cloud service capabilities and scalability. The new Mosso Control Panel simplifies and speeds management of the applications, websites, databases and email accounts a customer has deployed across The Hosting Cloud. Rackspace has been in the mainstream hosting business for over a decade, and was amongst early entrants into the utility computing market with the launch of Mosso back in 2006. Now rebranded as The Rackspace Cloud, the company’s Cloud Computing offering is one of the most widely used in the industry, probably sitting in second place close behind Amazon.
